Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a highly detailed color image free from color shift, in printing a full-color image using a three-color or four-color surface sequential film, by precisely detecting the printing start end position on a sheet.
CONSTITUTION: An outlet sensor S6 is arranged on the downstream side of a head and the leading end of a sheet sent in a forward direction is detected by the outlet sensor and, thereafter, the feed direction and feed distance necessary for moving the printing start end on the sheets tote position just under the head are calculated and, when the feed direction is the forward direction, the sheet is forwardly sent by the calculated feed distance (Ystart-L3). When the feed direction is reverse, the sheet is reversely fed by the distance (Ystart-L3+SBK) wherein overrun quantity SBK sufficient to remove backlash is added to the calculated feed distance and forwardly fed by the overrun quantity SBK to move the printing start end on the sheet to the position just under the head.
