Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a processing time when an image on film is printed, to reduce memory capacity and to improve an image quality.
SOLUTION: While a line CCD sensor 119 performs horizontal scanning of the image pickup area 124 of an image recorded on film 112, an image pickup block 125, a rack 126, a pinion gear 127 and a stepping motor 128 perform vertical scanning. A system controller 101 decides a scan pitch in a horizontal scanning direction in accordance with the print size that is set by a keyboard 104, etc., and the trimming scale factor of a trimming area, and controls the sensor 119 so that it may read a set trimming area of the area 124 in scan resolution that is defined by the scan pitch in a set print size.
