Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer capable of smoothly printing by providing a second means for judging whether or not a time-out occurs from the result of a first judging means and a time-out count obtained from a measuring means.
SOLUTION: An image data generation section 303 develops intermediate codes stored in a page memory within a RAM 30 into bit map data and writes them in an image memory 305. A DMA control section 308 delivers the bit map data in the image memory 305 to a printer engine section through an engine I/F section 306. A CPU 309 delivers a status request command and a paper feeding means specification command to the printer engine section, the printer engine section responds to these commands and returns statuses corresponding to the commands. These statuses contain the type of error and the specified paper feeding means.
