Abstract:
To solve the problem in which: a mechanism has been demanded which enables a printer to achieve an appropriate software update complying with an instruction by a manager from a cloud print management server.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: first acquisition means for acquiring information for software applicable to the printer from a management server; notification means for transmitting the acquired software information as a device information notification to a print system; request means for executing an event request for the print system; second acquisition means for acquiring software information used for update from the print system when a response received in response to the event request includes a software update event according to an operation input to the print system; and update means for updating the software of the printer on the basis of the software information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
