Abstract:
To suppress a reduction in printing speed caused by an increase in number of passes.SOLUTION: A printer performs printing by combining conveyance of a printing medium by a conveyance part and main scanning in which a printing head discharges ink on the basis of printing data with a scan part moving. The control part executes printing by: calculating, on the basis of a positional relation in a conveyance direction between defective nozzles and normal nozzles included in a nozzle array, a possible complementary conveyance amount capable of complementing no ink discharge by the defective nozzles with discharge of ink by the normal nozzles in a relation between one main scanning and the other main scanning with conveyance therebetween, which is a conveyance amount per conveyance by the conveyance part, for each nozzle array by nozzle array position; determining a common conveyance amount for nozzle arrays by nozzle array position; and employing the determined common conveyance amount as the conveyance amount per conveyance by the conveyance part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
