To provide a printing device with a cover fitting function improving productivity when forming printed matter by inserting a cover into sheets to be printed with the print data.
This printing device with a cover fitting function includes: a sheet conveying passage for conveying first sheets to be printed with the print data and a second sheet to be inserted as a cover from a paper feeding tray to a paper delivery tray; a sheet turning mechanism provided on the way of the sheet conveying passage to turn over the first sheets and second sheet; a guide means 6 guiding a user about a direction, in which the second sheet is to be set; a conveyance control means 8 controlling conveyance of the first sheets and second sheet to shorten the time for forming a covered printed matter; and a determining means 9 determining whether productivity is lowered or not if direction of the second sheets when post-processing is not performed is set in the standard direction based on the direction of the second sheet when performing post-processing of the printed matter as a standard.
