Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of accurately supplying sheets from the first sheet to a printing section at a high speed.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a printing section 4; and a supply section 2 which supplies sheets 3 one by one to the printing section 4. The printer further includes: a driving device 31 for the printing section (printing section driving means) which drives the printing section 4; a driving device 11 for the supply section (supply section driving means) which drives the supply section 2; a second encoder 39 (printing section phase detection means) which detects the phase of the printing section 4; a first encoder 16 (supply section phase detection means) which detects the phase of the supply section 2; and a control device 15 (control means) which drives the supply section 2 by the driving device 11 for the supply section on the basis of detection results of the first and second encoders 16 and 39 when starting printing. The supply section 2 is increased in speed while starting supply of the sheets 3 at a low speed and is driven at the same speed as driving speed of the printing section 4 when the first sheet 3 is supplied to the printing section 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
