PURPOSE: To increase the possibility that a process is completed within a restricted time by providing a means which informs a system of the progress state of a process recognized by an application program which needs to complete the process within the restricted time, and dynamically varying the priority of a task according to the information.
CONSTITUTION: The application program 1 is enabled to embed a process state information interface (II, etc.) at an optional place. When the execution of the application program 1 is assigned to a task 1, (1) the task 1 makes the restricted time of its process clear at the start of the process and (2) the system calculates the time of the end of the task by using the elapsed time from the start of the task and the advance state of the process each time when the embedded process state information interface is executed, and dynamically increases the priority of the task when it is estimated that the task does not end within the restricted time. Consequently, delicate priority control over the task can be performed and the possibility that the process is ended within the restricted time becomes high.
