Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process and an apparatus for creating a polymer coating with less defects.SOLUTION: The process includes: a step of coating a base material with a polymerizable material and solution of solvent; a step of polymerizing a part of the polymerizable material; and a step of removing a main part of the solvent after polymerization of a part of the polymerizable material. Further polymerization of an arbitrary remaining polymerizable material can occur after removing the solvent. The apparatus includes: a web line for transporting a base material from an unwind roll to a wind-up roll; a coating section which is close to the unwind roll and used for coating the base material with the polymerizable material and the solution of the solvent; a polymerization section which is at a web downstream from the coating section and used for polymerizing a part of the polymerizable material; and a solvent removing section which is at a web downstream from the polymerization section used for removing the solvent after polymerizing a part of the polymerizable material.
