Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily and efficiently dispose of dust like emission matters by generating a slag melt bath in a low shaft electric furnace, introducing the dust like substances into the bath, discharging slag containing the composition, and purifying generated emission gas.
CONSTITUTION: Dust like substances are introduced into a bath 6 comprising a slag melt in a low shaft electric furnace 1. A low shaft electric furnace 1 has therein a device 7 for supplying air and/or oxygen therein, at an upper portion of the slag melt furnace 6. The dust like substances are introduced from a hopper 8 through a hollow electrode 2 of the low shaft electric furnace, and then disposed of by a fluid charged through a conduit 9. For the dust like substances, it is desirable to provide a bath consisting predominantly of iron below the slag melt 6. Exhaust gas is supplied through a conduit 15 to an exhaust emission purifier. Thus, the dust like emission matters can be easily disposed of without causing loss of heat of evaporation nor leaving a huge amount of residuals which cannot be disposed of.
