Abstract:

To provide a process and an apparatus for producing an adhesive tape by which the adhesive is coated precisely on a supporting body.

Water or a water-soluble solvent is fed from a nozzle 10, applied on and impregnated in a surface of a porous supporting body 1 fed by a supporting body feed roll 2. Subsequently, an adhesive 4 is applied almost simultaneously on the surfaces of the supporting body 1 with dye coaters 12 arranged on the surface and back sides of the supporting body 1. The previously impregnated water and the like in the supporting body 1 drives out and removes the air (air bubbles) previously present in the supporting body 1. The adhesive 4 is applied in a state where there exist no air bubbles in the internal spaces of the supporting body 1. Therefore, drying the supporting body 1 by heat does not cause foaming by the bubbles.
