Title:
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING HYDROGEN FROM GAS GENERATED FROM DEVICE FOR TREATING WASTE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000345173
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a process for producing hydrogen by subjecting domestic wastes, and the like, to a thermal melting and gasifying treatment, washing the generated gas with water, compressing and cooling the washed gas and then delivering the produced gas into a hydrogen-separating device to produce the hydrogen from the raw material gas containing the hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

This process for producing hydrogen comprises feeding non- classified domestic wastes or industrial wastes containing liquid and/or solid pollutants into a tunnel 3 heated at ≥100°C to subject the waste to a melting and gasifying treatment at a high temperature of ≥1,000°C in the presence of oxygen, quenching the collected synthetic gas 7, washing the gas with water to remove impurities, compressing and cooling the gas 15 as raw material of the hydrogen, and then directly delivering the generated gas 22 into a hydrogen- separating device 30 to produce the hydrogen.
