The invention provides processes for producing a hydrogenated aromatic polycarboxylic acid by hydrogenating an aromatic polycarboxylic acid at hydrogen partial pressure of at least a specific value by a batch system in the presence of a specific amount of a precious metal catalyst, and by feeding an aromatic polycarboxylic acid to a filling bed of a catalyst containing a precious metal catalyst at a specific weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) at least specific hydrogen partial pressure by a continuous flow system.
