To provide a process for producing hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate efficiently by recovering a catalyst maintaining a sufficient activity from a distillation apparatus and reusing it.
Provided is a process for producing a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate comprising the steps of: reacting (meth)acrylic acid with an alkylene oxide in the presence of a catalyst; and purifying a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate by distillation from a reaction mixture obtained by the reaction. In the distillation purification step, n (n represents an integer equal to 2 or more) stage distillation is performed using n distillation apparatuses; and at least a portion of residual liquid obtained in a (n-1)th or earlier stage is used in a reaction step conducted separately from the above reaction step.
