Abstract:
To provide a process for industrially advantageously producing ketones.
The process for producing the ketones involves decomposing β-hydroxyhydroperoxides represented by general formula (2) (wherein, R1and R2are the same or different, and each an alkyl group which may be substituted, or the like, and R1and R2may form a part of a ring structure by bonding to each other) by reacting with at least one kind of a compound selected from the group consisting of a group Va element compound, a group VIIa element compound, a group VIII element compound, a group Ib element compound, a group IIb element compound, a group IIIb element compound, a group IVb element compound, a group Vb element compound and a lanthanide compound.
