To provide a processing method for a label material, which can prevent a label portion from being stained by an adhesive material during printing.SOLUTION: A processing method for a label material 100 is a method for carrying out first conveyance in which a label material 100 having a label sheet 101 and a base sheet 103 is unwound from one-end side and the label material 100 is wound from the one-end side, and second conveyance in which the label material 100 is unwound from the other-end side and the label material 100 is wound from the other-end side, includes: a step of, while carrying out the first conveyance, peeling an unnecessary portion 101d from the one-end side of the label material 100; a step of, while successively carrying out the second conveyance and the first conveyance, inspecting a label portion 101c during at least one conveyance; and a step of, while carrying out the second conveyance, printing on the label portion 101c in contact with an ink ribbon 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
