Title:
PROCESSING RATE MONITORING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3599557
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a monitoring band into a wide rang and to improve accuracy by discriminating the presence/absence of a transmission rate violation by comparing the value of an appearance interval counter for providing the lapse of time from the last time of detection to the detection of a relevant packet with the permission value of an appearance interval found from the transmission rate of relevant monitoring object connection for every time when detecting the packet corresponding to the monitoring object connection.
SOLUTION: Every time when one cell transfer cycle lapses, a processing means 1b discriminates whether the cell arriving at that time point is a cell corresponding to connection monitored by a cell interval counter 1a or not. When the cell of the monitored connection arrives, the processing means 1b compares the count value of the cell interval counter 1a for measuring cell intervals with a value interval for determining the previously permitted minimum cell interval and discriminates from the side relation whether the cell rate is observed or not. When transferring to counter reset operation, the processing means 1b performs the subtracting operation of the cell interval counter 1a.
