Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing 1,1,3-tris(2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5-t- butylphenyl)butane, without necessitating complicate production steps, in a state having decreased content of low-boiling impurities to cause foaming trouble when compounded to a high molecular material as an antioxidant.
CONSTITUTION: 1,1,3-Tris(2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5-t-butylphenyl)butane containing an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent as an impurity is treated with a saturated hydrocarbon solvent having a boiling point of 100-250°C.
