Abstract:
PURPOSE: To convert a cephalosporanic acid lactone derivative into a 3- hydroxymethylcephalosporanic acid derivative by action of a microorganism.
CONSTITUTION: A bacterium belonging to the genus Pseudomonas or Methylobacillus or its prepared material acts on a cephalosporanic acid lactone derivative to produce the objective 3-hydroxymethylcephalosporanic acid derivative.
