Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a low-viscosity polyisocyanate curing agent excellent in low-temperature stability, compatibility and reactivity, useful for coatings, adhesives, etc., containing a modified polyisocyanate formed by isocyanurate modification of part of a specific diisocyanate mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The curing agent containing a modified polyisocyanate formed by isocyanurate modification of part of a mixture composed of (A) 10-90wt.% of a diphenylmethane diisocyanate mixture comprising (1) 10-90wt.% of 2,4'- diphenylmethane diisocyanate and (2) 90-10wt.% of 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate and (B) 90-10wt.% of tolylene diisocyanate. The second objective polyurethane coating composition can be obtained by blending this curing agent and a polyhydric hydroxyl compound.
