To obtain a binder for ceramic materials which remarkably shortens the purging time without a danger of suffering from deformation or fracture of green body by compounding a polyamide, stryrene copolymer and low molecular weight flow accelerator or stripping agent.
Binders for ceramic materials are obtained by compounding (A) one or more kinds of 30-70 wt.% polystyrene copolymer, (B) 10-40 wt.% polyamide and (C) 10-30 wt.% flow accelerator, stripping agent and optionally adjuvant substance. The component A is comprised of 65-95 mol.% styrene and 5-35 mol.% comonomer (e.g. n-butyl acrylate). The component B is comprised of aliphatic or alicyclic polyamide and aliphatic/alicyclic, aliphatic/ aromatic and alicyclic/aromatic polyamide or copolyamide. It is produced by polycondensation or polymerization of lactams such as -caprolactam. The component C is, for example, magnesium salt of fatty acid.
