PURPOSE: To surely combine a shaft outer peripheral face and assembly part by fitting a brazing filler metal to the detaining part at the inlet port part of the side face of the brazing filler metal fitting groove formed on the corner part of the side face of an assembly part and the inner peripheral face of an engaging aperture and by melting the brazing filler metal inside a furnace.

CONSTITUTION: The detaining part 19 composed of the annular, circular arcuate or discontinuous projection-shaped brazing filler metal fitting groove 18 is provided on the corner part of the side face 14 of a journal 12 and the inner peripheral face 16 of the engaging aperture of the journal 12 and a brazing filler metal 20 is fitted therein in case of producing a cam shaft by fixing with brazing the assembly parts 12 of a journal, etc. on the outer periphery of a shaft 10. In this case the distance L from the tip of the detaining part 19 to the outer periphery of the shaft 10 is made larger than the gap C between the inner peripheral face 16 of the engaging aperture of the journal 12 and the outer peripheral face of the shaft. The brazing filler metal 20 is melted by putting it inside a heating furnace, the melted brazing filler metal is penetrated into the gap C by the capillarity and flowed out to the external part and the shaft 10 and journal parts 12 are brazed without its wasting.
