Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a caboxylic ester by using an alkyl titanate/silica catalyst excellent in stability for supporting the catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: In producing a caboxylic ester by reacting a carboxylic acid and/or an anhydride thereof with an alcohol using a catalyst supproting an alkyl titanate on silica, the catalyst in which a mean pore diameter of silica used as a support is within a range of ≥5 and ≥150 and the alkyl titanate having a mean bonding coordination number of 2.8 to <4 is supported on the silica is used.
