PURPOSE: To obtain a composite material with improving bending strength, toughness, E modulus, hardness and wear resistance by infiltrating a molten metal in a ceramic material consisting of multi-layers and specifying a layer thickness, an open porosity, an average pore radius and a molten metal fill quantity.
CONSTITUTION: When producing the ceramic-metal composite material, which infiltrates a molten metal in a ceramic material, the ceramic material is constructed in multi-layers, a layer thickness is 10-150 μm, an open porosity is 5-14%, a overall porosity is 5-30%, an average pore radius is 100-1000 nm, the molten metal is filled in a pore volume up to a residual pore volume based on an initial porosity. A pore net structure of the ceramic material is obtained by this multi-layer structure, infiltration is made possible by a molten metal. The pore net structure is adjusted based on a particle size used for the ceramic material and a coating speed in a liquid stabilizing plasma jet.
