To provide a cogged V-belt in which the shape of a cog part is uniform in the whole thereof and trouble such as a crack is difficult to be caused and life is prolonged.

In the method for producing the cogged V-belt 1, a drum is covered with a matrix on which uneven parts are formed and cog parts 8 are formed in a compressed rubber layer. At least a part of the matrix is made to a high hardness part 4 in which material having ≥80° hardness is used. The joint part of the compressed rubber layer 3 is positioned in the high hardness part.
