To provide a process for producing color filters for display devices which are not degraded in the adhesiveness to a transparent substrate, resistance, such as chemical resistance, light resistance and heat resistance, and performance, such as a contrast and spectral characteristics as a method for forming the color filters for display devices by an ink jet method.
The color filters are produced by transferring an image forming layer 30 formed on the substrate and color filter layers 40 formed on this image forming layer 30 by the ink jet method via an adhesive layer 70 to the transparent substrate 20. This process for production consists in transferring the image forming layer 30 formed on the substrate and the color filter layers 40 formed on the image forming layer 30 by the ink jet method via the adhesive layer 70 to the transparent substrate 20 without previously providing the surface of the transparent substrate with the image forming layer and, therefore, the process for producing the color filters for display devices which are not degraded in the adhesiveness of the image forming layer to the transparent substrate 20, the resistance, such as the chemical resistance, the light resistance and the heat resistance, and the performance, such as the contrast and the spectral characteristics is obtd.
