To provide a process for producing a colored paste for color filters capable of lowering the viscosity and yield value of the colored paste without impairing the intrinsic heat resistance and light resistance of the colored paste prepd. by dispersing pigments into a soln. of polyamic acid and without lowering a solid component concn and improvining the dispersion stability of pigments.
This process for producing the colored paste for color filters contg. the pigments, the polyamic acid, a solvent and a dispersant consists at least in adding the pigments to the solvent, then adding the dispersant thereto. Oligoamic acid or the oligoamic acid having an anthraquinone skeleton at least at its one terminal is used as the dispersant. The time after the addition of the pigments to the solvent before the addition of the dispersant is preferably ≥1 hours and within 168 hours.
