PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity of a color filter by consecutively executing a sectioning stage, a coloring stage and a drying stage.
SOLUTION: A glass base plate 1 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays by an exposure device. By the irradiation of the ultraviolet rays, an ink receptive layer 3 at an irradiated part is changed. The glass base plate 1 is heated by a hot plate. By heating the base plate 1, the part 5 irradiated with the ultraviolt rays is made to react to change organic material to be hydrophobic. Then, the base plate 1 only the black matrix part 2 of which is processed to be hydrophobic is carried to a coloring part. Next, an ink jet head is driven to discharge ink to the base plate 1. The ink gradually infiltrates in the organic material in the next drying stage, so that the picture element of the color filter is obtained. The solvent component of the ink is removed by a heating device and the ink is made to infiltrate in the ink receptive layer 3. Then, the ink receptive layer 3 is hardened by the heating device.
