Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain the subject derivative by ethyl acetate treatment followed by active carbon treatment.
SOLUTION: This colorless and odorless glucopyranoside derivative is obtained by purifying the corresponding glucopyranoside derivative through conducting an ethyl acetate treatment followed by active carbon (10-500 mesh) treatment. The amount of the ethyl acetate to be used is e.g. about 0.5-10 (pref. about 1-3) pts.wt. per pt.wt. of the crude glucopyranoside derivative. The active carbon to be used may be such active carbon derived from e.g. wood, coconut husks and readily available in the market.
