Title:
PRODUCTION OF CYANOAMIDINES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09194451
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To very readily and industrially obtain a cyanoamidine useful as a synthetic precursor of an insecticide as an agrochemical from only inexpensive N-substituted amide without using expensive N-cyanoimidate.

An N-substituted amide of formula I (R1 and R2 are each an alkyl, an aromatic or an aralkyl; preferably R1 is an alkyl or an aralkyl and R2 is an alkyl or an aromatic) is applied with an electrophilic reagent in the presence of a tertiary amine and reacted with water and calcium cyanamide to obtain N1-substituted N2-cyanoamidines. Lime nitrogen is industrially used while pure calcium cyanamide can be used. For instance, phosgene is blown into a chloroform solution of 3-(benzamide methyl)-6-chloropyridine and trimethylamine under stirring, further continuing the stirring and the solution is dropped into a suspended solution of the lime nitrogen and water and reacted to synthesize the objective N1-(6-chloro-3-pyridyl)methyl-N2-cyanobenzamidine.
