Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily form a natural continuous variable density colored pattern by forming a continuous variable density colored pattern due to the thickness gradient of an oxide film only to the pattern formed part of a member having copper or a copper alloy.
CONSTITUTION: A coloring solution such as paint or ink is patternwise applied to a member having at least copper or a copper alloy provided to the surface thereof by a screen printing method to form a continuous variable density colored pattern due to the thickness gradient of an oxide film only to the pattern formed part. Subsequently, the patternwise coloring solution composed of paint or ink is removed by a washing means using water or the like and a protective clear layer is subsequently applied to the surface of the member to obtain a decorative object having an antique design. The coloring solution is pref. composed of paint or ink wherein a water-soluble resin or a highly water-soluble resin is used as a dispersing material and an aqueous solution of a mixture consisting of an oxidizing agent and a basic salt is used as a solvent and the clear layer is formed by coating the member with acrylic paint or urethane paint by spray means and drying the coating layer.
