Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the coatability of an undercoat layer and to improve the storage stability of a coating liquid by using a solvent essentially consisting of a lower alcohol mixed with hydrocarbons to prepare a coating liquid for the undercoat layer.
SOLUTION: An undercoat layer containing metal oxide particles treated with an alcohol-soluble resin and an org. compd. is formed. The undercoat layer is formed by applying a coating liquid having a solvent compsn. essentially consisting of a mixture solvent of a lower alcohol and hydrocarbons. As for the alcohol-soluble resin in the undercoat layer, polyvinylacetal such as polyvinylbutylal, cellulose, polyamide or the like is exemplified, but the polyamide resin is preferably used considering the adhesion property to a base body, solvent resistance, electric barrier property and coatability. By mixing a specified amt. of a hydrocarbon solvent, the association degree of the org. compd. is small even when the treating liquid of the org. compd. is isolated. Therefore, the org. compd. can be easily present in a homogenous state in the coating liquid, which decreases coating defects such as crawling.
