Title:
PRODUCTION OF ELECTROTHERMAL TRANSFER INK FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63252787
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve stability of resistance on a microscopic level and obtain a resistor layer which enables high-quality transfer with uniform density, by providing the resistor layer by coating before providing an ink layer on a base by coating, in an electrothermal transfer ink film having the resistor layer and the ink layer provided respectively on both sides of the base by coating.

CONSTITUTION: A polyester resin is used as a base resin for a resistor layer 101. The resin is dissolved in a mixed solvent of toluene/cyclohexanone/methyl ethyl ketone=1/1/1, then a predetermined amount of conductive carbon black and a small amount of a dispersant are added to the resultant solution, and the conductive carbon black is dispersed for 12 hours in a sample filled with glass beads. After dispersion is finished, it is confirmed that the dispersed state of carbon black in a resistor layer-forming coating liquid thus obtained is normal, and the coating liquid is applied by a gravure method, followed by drying. As a result, the resistance on a microscopic level of the resistor layer 101 is stabilized, and it is possible to perform high quality transfer with uniform density.
