Abstract:
To provide a method for producing fiber-reinforced composite wire, and a device therefor, capable of stably and continuously obtaining fiber- reinforced composite wire having a high fiber volume ratio.
In a method in which a fiber bundle 2 is passed into a bath of molten metal 4 with external force applied such as ultrasonic vibration in the air while being immersed therein to impregnate the molten metal 4 into the space between the fibers, and, after that, the fiber bundle 2 is passed through a die 7 to produce fiber-reinforced composite wire 8, while ultrasonic vibration is applied to the die 7, the fiber bundle 2 is passed therethrough.
