To provide a method for producing the metal-ceramic composite material, by which a hole having no defect on the surface of the hole can be formed.
In the method for producing the metal-ceramic composite material which is comprised of first forming a preform using a ceramic fiber or particle, as a reinforcing material, and then infiltrating the preform with a metal, when the preform has a space part such as a hole for bolt or the like, the preform is infiltrated with an aluminum alloy under a nitrogen atmosphere at 700-1,000°C and cooled to form a composite material having the space part, and the resulting composite material is heated under a nitrogen stream at 700-900°C and simultaneously, the space part is infiltrated with a molten aluminum alloy under the nitrogen stream at 700-900°C or the space part is filled with an aluminum alloy and then the space part is subjected to heat treatment under the nitrogen stream at 700-900°C.
