Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce a functional polymer having ion exchange ability to use it for ion exchange treatment, and to reprocess a functional polymer declined in ion exchange ability into a functional polymer of granular, thin filmy or fibrous form, or soil modifier, earth filling material, which are then utilized. CONSTITUTION:Chloromethylstyrene is incorporated with monomer(s) such as methyl methacrylate or acrylic ester(s) followed by copolymerization (e.g. radical polymerization or anionic polymerization) followed by introducing functional group into the resultant polymer, thus giving a functional polymer with ion exchange ability. And, an organic solvent is added to a functional polymer declined in ion exchange ability to effect dissolution, and the resulting solution is processed into a thin filmy, fibrous, or matty form, which is, in turn, utilized as a soil modifier, or lumpy earth filling material.
