Title:
PRODUCTION OF GLASS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3709260
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably produce glass excellent in quality without generating cracks, etc., on a gel by incorporating one or more kinds elements selected from the group consisting of rare-earth elements, and Al, and using Boehmite sol as a raw material of the Al.
SOLUTION: The Boehmite sol is used as a raw material of the Al, in order to uniformize an Al components easy to become ununiform, when silica glass containing the Al component for incorporating a lot of quantity of rare-earth elements and performing stable nitrification, is produced. Amorphous aluminium monohydroxide obtain by hydrolysis of an Al compound is hydrolyzed, immediately heated and then the obtained particles enabling to the easily peptized are the Boehmite sol which is a sol containing substance expressed by AlO(OH). The Boehmite sol is produced by adding an aqueous liquid at 10-100°C to an Al alkoxide or it derivatives and heating and stirring at 30-200°C, to hydrolyse the alkoxide or the derivatives.
