Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an efficient industrial production method of glycerol sulfate at low cost with little by-products and an industrially advantageous production method of fatty acid monoglyceride monosulfate using the glycerol sulfate.
CONSTITUTION: The glycerol sulfate can be obtained by reaction between glycerol an sulfuric anhydride using a continuous thin-film-type sulfating reaction vessel 1. The glycerol sulfate obtained is then made to react with a fatty acid or an ester thereof followed by neutralization and hydrolysis, thus obtaining the objective fatty acid monoglyceride monosulfate.
