Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the continuous producing efficiency of half-solidified metal with a die casting, etc., by attaching or detaching one or more layers in plural segments for controlling heat conductive speed and asjusting the heat conductive speed of a cooling plate.
CONSTITUTION: The cylindrical cooling plate 6 is arranged in a cooling vessel 5 and the back surface thereof is cooled with coolant. The half-solidified metal, in which non-dendritic crystal having fine grains is suspended, is produced by shearing force based on the rotation of stirrer 4 at the center of the cooling vessel 5 under the heat conduction of the cooling plate 6 to molten metal supplied from a tundish 2 above the cooling vessel 5 and discharged from a discharging hole 14 at the lower part. Then, one or more layers are attached or detached in plural segments 9, 10 for controlling heat conductive speed at the back surface of the cooling plate 6. In such a way, the heat conductive speed of the cooling plate 6 is adjusted. By this method, the stop of the discharging metal during the operation and the overload of a motor for driving the stirrer are prevented and the stable operation be executed.
