Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst suitable for the hydrodesulfurization, especially, depth desulfurization of hydrocarbon oil, especially, light oil.
SOLUTION: A first soln. containing a phosphorus component and group IIA metal is infiltrated into and supported on an inorg. oxide carrier so that the phosphorus component is 0.1-4 mass % in terms of P2O5 and the group IIA metal is 0.1-2 mass % in terms of monoxide on a catalyst basis and this carrier is dried and baked. Thereafter, a second soln. containing a molybdenum component is infiltrated into and supported on the carrier so that the molybdenum component becomes 10-30 mass % in terms of MoO3 on a catalyst basis. Next, after drying and baking, a third soln. containing a cobalt component is infiltrated into and supported on the carrier so that the cobalt component becomes 3-7 mass % in terms of CoO on a catalyst basis and the impregnated carrier is dried and baked.
