PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a follow-up property at the time of high-speed rotation and at the same time to reduce the sticking contamination of ink by forming a composite cover film comprising a thermally-sprayed layer of porous ceramic and a low-surface-energy resin layer for covering the surface and the inside of a hole on a fiber-reinforced resin-made roll base material.
SOLUTION: This pressing and conveying roller which is suitably used as a guide roller for a rotary printing machine has a base layer 11 of 30 to 300μm thick comprising the same kind of organic high polymer materials as a synthetic resin forming the matrix of a fiber-reinforced resin on a fiber-reinforced resin- made roll base material 10 and a backing layer 14 comprising a roughened surface layer 12 having a film thickness of 50 to 300μm and a surface roughness (Rz) of 40 to 130μm. The roughened surface layer 12 is formed of a synthetic resin forming the matrix of a fiber-reinforced resin and a same kind of granulated solid organic material 13, and a composite cover film 17 comprising the thermally-sprayed layer 15 of porous ceramic and a low-surface-energy resin layer 16 is formed on the backing layer 14.
