Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form plural liquid crystal display cells into one body, by forming many electrodes on a pair of upper and lower glass substrates and forming preliminarily conductive protection films with a thickness, which is equal to or thinner than the interval between upper and lower glass substrates, on plural electrodes for external connection provided on the upper glass substrate and adhering upper and lower glass substrates with a sealing member.

CONSTITUTION: Conductive protection films 6 consisting of a conductive adhesive, a paint, or the like whose essential component is graphite or the like are printed with a screen on electrodes 4 for external connection of an upper glass substrate 1 out of upper and lower glass substrates provided with plural transparent electrodes 7. For the purpose of making the printing thickness thin, an emulsion mask 400 mesh photoengraved by the direct method is used as the screen, and materials having a proper conductive filler particle size and a proper viscosity are selected as conductive materials, and thus, the thickness of printed conductive protection films is made equal to or thinner than a target interval (t) between upper and lower glass substrates after heating and drying. Next, organic sealing materials 3 are printed on the lower glass substrate 2, and upper and lower glass substrates are adhered while holding them at the target interval, and a liquid crystal is charged, and the charging entrance is sealed, and finally, they are cut into individual cells along cutting lines.
