Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for production of a liquid crystal display element by which a member to be removed can be easily removed even when a substrate consisting of a thermoplastic resin is used in the liquid crystal display element.
SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element is produced by laminating a first substrate 1 and a second substrate 2 consisting of a thermoplastic resin with a sealing material 3. A dividing line 6 is formed on the first substrate 1 by a dicing method to half cut the substrate while leaving specified thickness of the substrate so that the member 7 to be removed can be easily removed. Compressed air is injected to the liquid crystal display element subjected to half-cutting to pull the member 7. When the compressed air is injected, the air is injected in the oblique direction to the liquid crystal display element. Or, when the compressed air is injected, a removing head is inserted between the member 7 and a terminal region 5 to remove the member 7.
