Abstract:
PURPOSE: To effectively obtain a natural pigment having a sufficient coloring density by bringing a shell part containing a red pigment of decapods into contact with gaseous carbon dioxide in a supercritical state and extracting the red pigment with the gaseous carbon dioxide.
CONSTITUTION: A shell part containing a red pigment from decapods is brought into contact with gaseous carbon dioxide in a supercritical state, as necessary, in the presence of an organic solvent to extract the red pigment contained in the above-mentioned shell part in the afore-mentioned gaseous carbon dioxide and afford the objective natural pigment. Furthermore, the above-mentioned shell part is preferably subjected to decalcification treatment.
