Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a non-heat treated steel for reinforcing bars excellent in strength and ductility by subjecting a steel having a specified compsn. satisfying the specified inequality and in which the total of Al and Ti is specified to hot rolling and cooling under specified conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A steel having a compsn. contg., by weight, 0.15 to 0.30% C, 0.05 to 0.5% Si, 0.5 to 2.0% Mn, 0.1 to l.5% Cr, ≤1% Mo, 0.005 to 0.05% Ti, 0.0005 to 0.0030% B, ≤0.01% N and >0.001 to <0.04% Al, in which Pcm value decided by the formula of Pcm(%)=C+Si/30+Mn/20+Cu/20+Ni/60+Cr+Mo/15+V/10+5B satisfies 0.2%<Pcm≤0.5% and Si+Al+Ti<0.5% is regulated, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is heated at the Ac3 point to 1250°C, is subjected to hot rolling and is thereafter cooled in the temp. range of 500 to 800°C at ≥0.3°(C/sec cooling rate.
