PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for producing a spunbonded nonwoven fabric in which staple fibers are uniformly combined.

CONSTITUTION: This apparatus for producing a spunbonded nonwoven fabric is capable of sucking and drawing molten filaments 2 extruded from a die 1 with a slot type air gun 3 and then scattering the filaments on a collecting belt 4. In the apparatus, a skirt 7 leading from the air gun 3 to the collecting belt 4 is installed to keep the interior of the skirt 7 under a negative pressure with air sucked by a suction 8. Staple fibers 10 in a hopper 9 are then opened with a drum type opener 11, cut out by a constant amount and then introduced into the skirt by the negative pressure therein. The staple fibers are subsequently mixed in the filaments blown from the air gun 3.
