Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an organopolysiloxane emulsion which eliminates the slipperiness of fiber and gives it a good hand without detriment to softness inherent in a silicone by reacting a cationic silicone emulsion with a specific compd.
CONSTITUTION: A cationic silicone emulsion (e.g. one obtd. by emulsifying octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane in the presence of octadecyltrimethylammonium chloride) is reacted with an alkoxysilane or alkoxysiloxane (e.g. methyltrimethoxysilane) pref. in an amt. of the silane or siloxane of 10-300 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. silicone in the emulsion.
