Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a Pb-Te based compound powder for a relatively short time without dissipating a large quantity of energy.
The Pb-Te based compound powder composed of a particle formed by combining the Pb powder with the Te powder is produced by charging a Pb powder and a Te powder with steel balls into a vessel 12 under an inert gas atmosphere and agitating the powder and the steel balls in the vessel to utilize frictional heat generated by the contact of the Pb powder with the Te powder and heat of reaction generated at the time of combining the powder with each other. A dopant powder can be charged into the vessel in addition to the Pb powder and the Te powder.
