Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an effective method for what is called a wet system in which green wood veneers having an ultra-high water content are laminated and bonded with each other intact using a one-pack type moisture-curing urethane adhesive without going through a drying process to be made into a plywood having a superior performance.
CONSTITUTION: Green wood veneers having a water content of 30wt.% or more, esp. 90±10wt.% are coated with a one-pack type moisture-curing urethane adhesive having an NCO group content of 12-22wt.% and laminated with each other. The adhesive is expanded and cured while being cold-pressed. Furthermore, the obtained plywood is hot-pressed at a 100°C or higher temperature.
