Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for the production of a polyacetal copolymer having improved polymerization degree (molecular weight), stability, mechanical strength, etc., in improved polymerization yield while solving the problems such as thermal stability in the case of the copolymerization of trioxane using a perfluoroalkylsulfonic acid catalyst.
SOLUTION: A polyacetal copolymer is produced by the copolymerization of a main monomer consisting of trioxane with a comonomer consisting of a cyclic ether or cyclic formal having at least one carbon-carbon bond. The copolymerization is carried out by using at least one kind of polymerization catalyst selected from a perfluoroalkylsulfonic acid and its derivative and adding a mixture of the polymerization catalyst and a part or total of the comonomer to trioxane.
